阿斯利康推出廉价复方降压药Dutoprol
    2012年4月12日，阿斯利康（AstraZeneca）称，开始销售新的降血压药物Dutoprol，并计划直接向患者出售。
    Dutoprol是日服一次的高血压治疗药物，其成分包括阿斯利康药物Toprol中的活性成分美托洛尔及低剂量的利尿剂（diuretic）。阿斯利康称，患者凭处方就能订购药物并直接送药上门。阿斯利康称，无论患者是否有保险，一个90天的处方（a 90-day prescription）花费均为每月18.33美元，所订购药物的订单处理及运输都将免费。同时，Dutoprol在零售药店也可买到。
    阿斯利康称，Dutoprol的批发价与Toprol XL（metoprololsuccinate，琥珀酸美托洛尔缓释片）的仿制药价格相当。

美国上市降低血压药物Dutoprol片
    阿斯利康在美国上市治疗高血压药物Dutoprol片。
    Dutoprol含有能够利尿的活性成分Toprol-XL（美托洛尔），能够在24小时内降低患者血压。
    Toprol-XL用于治疗高血压，可以单独使用或者和其他药物配合使用。
    阿斯利康公司负责商标的首席执行官史蒂夫戴维斯说：“DUTOPROL为高血压患者提供了新选择，而且这种品牌组合药物一天服用一片，非常方便。”

Important Safety Information for DUTOPROL and TOPROL-XL
WARNING: ISCHEMIC HEART DISEASE: Following abrupt cessation of therapy with beta-blocking agents, exacerbations of angina pectoris and myocardial infarction have occurred. Warn patients against interruption or discontinuation of therapy without the physician's advice. See WARNINGS: Metoprolol Succinate; Ischemic Heart Disease in the full PI.
DUTOPROL is contraindicated in patients with cardiogenic shock, overt cardiac failure, second- or third-degree atrioventricular (AV) block, marked sinus bradycardia, anuria, and in patients who are hypersensitive to any component of the product or to sulfonamide-derived drugs
TOPROL-XL is contraindicated in patients with severe bradycardia, heart block of second or third degree, cardiogenic shock, decompensated cardiac failure, sick sinus syndrome (unless permanent pacemaker is in place), and in patients who are hypersensitive to any component of this product
Worsening cardiac failure may occur during up-titration of beta blockers, including DUTOPROL and TOPROL-XL
DUTOPROL and TOPROL-XL should be used with caution in patients who have bronchospastic disease, pheochromocytoma, diabetes and hypoglycemia, hepatic impairment, thyrotoxicosis, peripheral vascular disease, those who take calcium channel blockers of the verapamil and diltiazem type, or those who are undergoing major surgery
Avoid initiation of high-dose DUTOPROL or TOPROL-XL in patients undergoing non-cardiac surgery
Patients taking beta blockers with a history of anaphylactic reaction may be unresponsive to the usual doses of epinephrine used to treat allergic reactions
Hypersensitivity reactions to hydrochlorothiazide may occur in patients with or without a history of allergy or bronchial asthma
Due to the thiazide component, DUTOPROL should be used with caution in patients with severe renal disease or impaired hepatic function. Patients should be observed for clinical signs of fluid or electrolyte imbalance and for metabolic alterations
Hyperuricemia may occur or acute gout may be precipitated in certain patients receiving thiazide therapy
Thiazide diuretics have been reported to cause acute myopia and secondary angle-closure glaucoma, and to exacerbate or activate systemic lupus erythematosus
DUTOPROL generally should not be given with lithium
Concomitant use of DUTOPROL and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs can reduce the diuretic, natriuretic, and antihypertensive effects of thiazide diuretics
For DUTOPROL, the most common reported adverse reactions (>1% and ≥placebo), were nasopharyngitis, fatigue, dizziness, back pain, and nausea
For TOPROL-XL, the most common adverse reactions were tiredness, dizziness, depression, shortness of breath, bradycardia, hypotension, diarrhea, pruritus, and rash

Indication for DUTOPROL and TOPROL-XL
DUTOPROL is indicated for the treatment of hypertension, to lower blood pressure. Lowering blood pressure lowers the risk of fatal and non-fatal cardiovascular events, primarily strokes and myocardial infarction.

TOPROL-XL is indicated for the treatment of hypertension; it may be used alone or in combination with other antihypertensive agents.
