This medication inhibits the entry of calcium into cardiomyocytes and vascular smooth muscle cells. Coracten has antianginal and hypotensive action. This drug lowers the tone of vascular smooth muscle. Coracten dilates coronary and peripheral arteries, lowers blood pressure and slightly - myocardial contractility, reduces afterload and myocardial oxygen demand. This medicine improves coronary blood flow. Coracten practically does not possess antiarrhythmic activity, it does not inhibit the conductance of myocardium. Coracten, the prototype of the dihydropyridine class of calcium-channel antagonists, is similar to other dihydropyridines including amlodipine, felodipine, isradipine, and nicardipine. Coracten is used to treat Prinzmetal's angina, hypertension, and other vascular disorders such as Raynaud's phenomenon. By blocking the calcium channels, Coracten inhibits the spasm of the coronary artery and dilates the systemic arteries, results in a increase of myocardial oxygen supply and a decrease in systemic blood pressure. Indication: For the management of vasospastic angina, chronic stable angina and hypertension. Coracten helps to keep your blood pressure under control. Coracten relaxes your blood vessels and this helps to lower your blood pressure. It may be used on its own or together with other medicines. Coracten may also be used to treat other conditions, for example, chest pain, heart failure or a blood circulation problem called Raynaud's phenomenon. Prophylaxis of chronic stable angina pectoris. Treatment of Prinzmetal (variant) angina when diagnosed by a cardiologist. Hypertension. Indications: angina pectoris, hypertension Vasospastic angina (Prinzmetal’s or Variant angina).Chronic stable angina (classic effort - associated angina).All types of hypertension.
